I am a geriatric specialist with a comprehensive background in geriatrics from one of Turkey's leading universities. During my experience in the geriatrics department, with a substantial inpatient ward capacity, I encountered a diverse patient population, ranging from healthy older adults to those in palliative care. This exposure facilitated the diagnosis and management of a wide range of diseases.
Studying geriatrics at a well-established university has also provided me with the opportunity to attend and present at many national and international congresses, as well as to write original articles in this field and to be published in many quality journals. All of these experiences have enriched my knowledge and broadened my vision in the field.
Guided by the principles of "primum non nocere" and a "start low, go slow" approach in geriatric patient care, I prioritize individualized treatment to enhance overall well-being. Recognizing that geriatrics is a collaborative effort, I excel in effective communication not only with fellow specialists but also with nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians, and spiritual leaders. This collaborative approach ensures comprehensive care tailored to the unique needs of each elderly patient.
I strongly believe that having a geriatrician in a hospital setting provides the elderly and their families with optimal and satisfactory care. I am eager to start working to improve the standard of care for older individuals and enhance their quality of life.
