I server as the depot forward to the next higher echelon beyond Organization and Intermediate Maintenance attach to each Battalion Maintenance Support Company. As the Major Item Repairmen for the unit I provide in depth electronic troubleshooting practices and theory of operation to resolve complex PATRIOT major end items electronic problems. When fielded procedures and documentation(work packets) do not correct the fault and all organizational and intermediate maintenance resources have been exhausted, the MIR uses his in depth system knowledge and field experience to restore the system to functional state. As the MIR I am able to repair and resolve system major end item operational anomalies to include isolation and intermittent faults which are very complex to analyze and correct. While being a stand alone MIR overseas I provide 24 hour support to insure the maximum readiness of the field equipment. As the MIR in country i am able to support units that arrive and are preparing to depart the country with systems integration and check out which I have perform over 30 SICO's while In Bahrain alone. Have been able to help support the unit with some repair in place (RIP) procedures to help units come up to a fully mission state. While in Bahrain I have received 6 Certificate of Appreciation, 4 plaques, a United States of American flag that was on site and one Achievement Medal for Civilian Service.

Involved in all aspects of pre-combat inspections, pre-combat checks, deployment and re-deployment of the 555th maintenance support team. Instrumental in the troubleshooting and repair of two critical radar set faults which were definite “mission stoppers”. My involvement resulted in over two million dollars worth of repair to the radar set which allowed the successful completion of the operational test three mission.
