The Survey & Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) is the governmental authority in Bahrain responsible for all matters relating to land surveying, cadastre (land registration), and real estate transactions. It plays a crucial role in maintaining property ownership records, regulating land use, and supporting national development projects.

Cadastral Data Coordination and Development (2017-2020)

Data Migration and Quality Assurance (Project):

• Led the cadastral data migration project, transitioning the dataset from CAD to GIS, which significantly enhanced data accessibility and analytical capabilities. This involved project planning, execution, and closure phases.
• Initiated and developed a proof of concept (POC) to validate the migration approach. This included data cleaning and conversion using FME and Python, serving as a feasibility study and risk assessment for the full-scale migration.
• Defined and implemented a comprehensive data cleanup strategy, a critical component of the project scope, to ensure CAD data was effectively prepared for migration. This strategy addressed data quality issues and established acceptance criteria for the migrated data.
• Established and enforced rigorous QA/QC procedures throughout the project lifecycle, encompassing data cleanup and migration. These procedures, aligned with the project's quality management plan, ensured the accuracy and integrity of the resulting GIS dataset and adherence to stakeholder requirements.

Cadastral Operations and Review:

• Reviewed and provided expert commentary on Planning Permission Requests, safeguarding private property rights and preventing encroachment from major development projects.
• Oversaw Service Consultation Requests, providing technical supervision to two employees and ensuring efficient and accurate processing.

Field Survey Operations:

The Merowe Dam Electricity Company operates the Merowe Dam, a major hydroelectric power plant on the Nile River in Sudan. The dam is a crucial source of electricity for Sudan. In 2016, it produced more than 60% of the country's total electricity. The company is responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of the dam and its associated infrastructure, including power generation and environmental monitoring.

Dam and Reservoir Monitoring:

• Performed precise horizontal and vertical deformation monitoring of the dam structure using advanced surveying techniques and equipment. This involved meticulous data collection and analysis to track structural movements, ensuring dam safety and operational integrity.
• Conducted correlation analysis to investigate the relationship between dam motions, water levels, and other relevant factors. This analysis provided critical insights into the dam's structural behavior and informed proactive maintenance strategies.
• Utilized remote sensing techniques, including supervised classification of multispectral imagery, to monitor downstream wet areas. This contributed to environmental management efforts and impact assessment related to dam operations.

Participated in the planning and execution of bathymetric survey projects to map the reservoir's depth and (bottom shape). These surveys involved:

• Employing specialized hydrographic surveying equipment and techniques.
• Processing and interpreting bathymetric data to create detailed depth maps.
• Calculating and monitoring sediment buildup within the reservoir over time, which is essential for reservoir management, optimizing power generation, and predicting future capacity.
